Carotid Endarterectomy

This is a Carotid Endarterectomy performed by Dr. Omar Hamdallah, where the patient was given regional anesthesia and Dr. Omar removed the plaques clogging the carotid artery (located in the neck). This procedure improves blood flow in the carotid artery and reduces your risk of stroke. The patient was discharged home the next day and is recovering very well.

Successful stories

Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD)

Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) is a non-atherosclerotic, non-inflammatory disease of the blood vessels that causes abnormal growth within the wall of an artery. FMD has been found in nearly every arterial bed in the body although the most common arteries affected are the renal and carotid arteries.

This patient underwent stent placement in the renal arteries 17 years ago, now presented with high blood pressure, Dr. Omar performed Balloon angioplasty without stents and after a successful procedure her blood pressure went back to normal.
